eating locally

Last week I read two books that have me thinking about
the way we eat, what we eat,
and from where our food comes.

I've decided I want to live in the country,
have a cow, two goats, & five chickens.

And, my garden will be one full acre of deliciousness.

I will spend my days working in the garden
and tending the animals.
My writing will be fantastically adventurous
due to all the home grown goodness and
I will make my living writing & blogging from the farm.

My children will learn about agriculture and they will love it.

Tigg and I will have a wildly successful catering business
using our own homemade produce, cheeses, breads,
and only locally sourced products, of course.
His home brews will be known in the land as the best microbrews available.

I will wear braids.

Ok, so it's just a funny dream I had.
But, somewhere in there is a tinge of real desire.

We are making more of our own things including
beer, cheese, bread, & pizza crusts just this past week.
And they were all good!

At the very least,
I am asking more questions at the grocery store,
going to the Farmer's Market regularly,
and wearing braids more often.
